Katie and Dana met in August 2018 on Muir is Tìr/ Land and Sea artists residency in the Hebrides, ran in collaboration with AN LANNTAIR and SAIL BRITAIN. Having met on a boat on The Minch, the two artists then happened to move to Glasgow within weeks of each other, they immediately set about joining their skill set and founded FIADHAICH Ltd, Autumn 2018.
FIADHAICH means ‘wild’ in Scots-Gaelic, with their joint love of rural, wild spaces a fitting title for their collective. Their first collaboration is titled Light Walk and celebrates the cross over of traditional language and contemporary digital techniques. In February 2019 they will join forces continuing the exploration of language, movement and visual design. Developing the piece into a choreography titled Moving Myth | A ‘gluasad uirsgeul, designed to be installed in galleries, studios and for outdoor public spaces.
Alongside their installations Fiadhaich facilitates intergenerational health and wellbeing workshops, with emphasis on movement and visual arts as a tool to facilitate empowerment, humanism and truth through building relationship with self and other.
